Wired surround sound systems can be extremely difficult to install and use. This is because they use a large number of cables to work properly.
A much easier option would be to use wireless surround sound speakers. These systems do not require any cables because they can be connected to your computer wirelessly.
Requirements
Many types of wireless surround sound speakers will work on any computer as they do not require anything special. The sound cards required are also fairly basic in most cases. This is because there is no need for the computer itself to transmit the signal to the speakers.
How Wireless Surround Sound Speakers Work
Most of these systems work by having a wireless transmitter which is connected to your computer. This is often housed in the subwoofer of the speaker system.
This device need to be connected to the computer by connecting it to the surround sound card. When you have done this you then need to connect the system up to the electrical receptacle.
The satellite speakers are typically powered by batteries. There are also some other systems available which can be connected to electrical sockets around the room.
The easiest type to install are battery powered systems although you will need to check the batteries regularly and also ensure that the whole system is switched off at night.
Most of these wireless surround sound speakers will switch themselves off when they are not being used. However the cheaper units normally need to be turned off manually.
Convenience
Instead of needing to hide speaker wires around the edge of your room it is very easy to install a wireless surround speaker system. These wireless systems can simply be put into the room wherever you want them to be positioned. When they are in the correct place you can then start using them straight away.
Wireless surround sound speakers are also perfect for anyone with pets because there aren’t any wires for the animals to bite through, this may sound silly, but it does happen!
